Bhubaneswar: The cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh & neighbourhood now lies over south Jharkhand & neighbourhood and extends upto 5.8 km above mean sea level. Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over the same region during next 24 hours.
Under its influence widespread light to moderate rainfall activity with isolated heavy (7 to 11 cm) to very heavy (11 to 20 cm) rainfall at one or two places likely during next 4 to 5 days over some districts of Odisha, the IMD stated.
It may help ongoing agriculture activity, particularly sowing of kharif crops, however it may cause temporarily water logging in areas low lying areas and traffic disruption in urban areas in the districts of heavy rainfall activity.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Sambalpur & Bolangir, the IMD stated.
The Met Department has warned of temporarily water logging in low lying areas and occasional reduction of visibility, apart from traffic congestion in urban areas.
During the next 24 hours, heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over Boudh, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Koraput, Sonepur, Nawarangpur, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Balasore and Angul districts.
