Bhubaneswar: A low pressure area is very likely to form over north Andaman Sea around October 10, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) informed today.
Head of IMD’s Bhubaneswar station, Dr HR Biswas said that the low pressure area which is likely to form by October 10 will become more marked and move northwestwards towards Odisha coast by October 14 and 15.
“The system is likely to become more marked and move west northwestwards towards south Odisha and north Coastal Andhra Pradesh coast during the subsequent 4 to 5 days,” said Biswas.
He added that over the next four to five days, some parts of Odisha will experience thunderstorm and lightning.
“During the next 24 hours, thunderstorm and lightning activity will be witnessed in Sundergarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mahyurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh and Kandhamal districts,” Biswas said.
A Yellow warning has been issued by the IMD for these districts because of thunderstorm and lightning.
