Bhubaneswar: Enhance rainfall activity with isolated heavy to heavy rainfall is very likely to commence over Odisha from June 10 under the influence of a low pressure area, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday.
A low pressure area is likely to form over east-central Bay of Bengal during next 48 hours under the influence of the cyclonic circulation which now lies over east-central Bay of Bengal & adjoining north Andaman Sea.
The system is likely to move west north-westward and become more marked during subsequent 24 hours. Under above condition, enhance rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to commence over Odisha from June 10.
Meanwhile, the IMD has warned that many districts in Odisha are to experience rain and thunderstorm along with squally weather for the next three days followed by heavy to very heavy rainfall for the subsequent two days.
Squally weather with wind speed 40-50 kmph is very likely over North and adjoining west central Bay of Bengal and off Odisha coast. Fisherman are advised not to venture into sea, along and off Odisha coast, North and adjoining west central Bay of Bengal from 10th onwards till further notice. Whoever in deep sea, are advised to return to coast June 9.
The IMD further informed that Southwest monsoon has further advanced into some parts of northwest and some more parts of Northeast Bay of Bengal. Conditions are becoming favourable for further advancement of Southwest monsoon into some more parts of central & north Bay of Bengal and some parts Northeastern states during next 2 to 3 days.
Conditions are likely to become favourable subsequently for further advance of Southwest monsoon into remaining parts of Bay of Bengal and northeastern states, Sikkim, some parts of Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal during subsequent 2 days.
