Bhubaneswar: The IMD has forecast heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) for Puri, Khordha, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Nawarangpur, Koraput, Boudh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bolangir districts during the next 24 hours.
According to the IMD, a cyclonic circulation over Eastcentral & adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal lies over North & adjoining Central Bay of Bengal. The system extends upto 5.8 km above mean sea level.
Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over Northwest & adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal off Odisha-West Bengal coasts around September 20. The IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) during September 19 and 20 in Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Ganjam and Puri districts.
The low pressure is likely trigger heavy rainfall in Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Khordha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh and Kendrapada districts on September 20 and very heavy rainfall in Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur and Nayagarh on September 21, the IMD stated.
