Low Pressure To Trigger Rains In Odisha Till July 30

Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic circulation lies over North Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood between 1.5 km & 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height. Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over North Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood around 28th July, 2021, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) stated.

Under the influence of likely formation of Low Pressure Area over North-West Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood around 28th July, 2021, squally weather with surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely over North Bay of Bengal from 28th to 30th July, 2021. “Fishermen are adviced not to venture into north Bay of Bengal from 28th to 30th July, 2021,” the IMD added.

“Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Khurda, Puri, Boudh, and Nayagarh. Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak,” IMD Bhubaneswar Director HR Biswas said.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati,Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Boudh,
Sonepur over the next two days.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of North Odisha and at a few places over the districts of South Odisha. Bhubaneswar is likely to experience cloudy sky with light rain. Maximum and Minimum temperature very likely to be around 31°C and 26°C respectively in the Capital City, the IMD further informed.
