Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic circulation lies over Northwest Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood and extends between 3.1 km and 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height, the Indian Meteorological Department stated today. “Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is very likely to form over northwest Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood during next 48 hours, the Bhubaneswar station of IMD informed.
Over the next two days, heavy rain is expected over Cuttack, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Khurda, Puri, Koraput, Malkangiri, Balasore, Kandhamal, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh. Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Boudh, and Angul.
Over the next five days several parts of the State are very likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm. The Capital City will experience a cloudy sky with a few spells of rain or thundershower. Maximum and Minimum temperature very likely to be around 31°C and 25°C respectively, the IMD added.
