Bhubaneswar: Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is very likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands during May 6 to 8 and heavy rainfall over Nicobar islands on May 5 under the influence of the Low Pressure Area over South Andaman Sea and subsequent depression.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into Andaman Sea during the next five days; into Southeast & Eastcentral Bay of Bengal during the next four days and into Westcentral Bay of Bengal on May 8 and 9.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over South Andaman Sea and neighbourhood on May 6 under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over the same region. It is very likely to move northwestwards and intensify gradually into a Depression during the subsequent 48 hours.
The weather agency also informed that isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall is very likely in Odisha during the next five days with isolated thunderstorm or lightning or gusty winds with speed reaching 40-50 kmph on May 5 and 6.
