Cuttack: Around 20 students escaped narrowly as a LPG cylinder exploded in an Anganwadi centre at Lalitgiri in Mahanga block here on Friday.
The incident took place when an Anganwadi assistant was peeling boiled eggs outside the centre’s kitchen. All items stored in the kitchen were charred in the mishap.
However, no casuality or injuries were reported due to the incident. All students present in the centre are safe, sources said.
The local Block Development Officer (BDO) and Child Development Project Officer rushed to the spot and have ordered an inquiry into the mishap.
