Bhubaneswar: The doors of Maa Majhighariani Temple’s donation boxes were opened after a six-month gap, revealing a whopping Rs 1.4 crore, along with gold, silver, and foreign currencies.
The meticulous counting process, which took over eight hours, was conducted under tight security with representatives from the Endowment Department, Rayagada district administrative officals, and temple management committee members present.
More than 250 volunteers, including students and organization members, participated in the count, which began at 9 am on Sunday.
The collected amount will be deposited into the Utkal Grameen Bank, with the interest earned to be used for temple development and facilities.
