Bhubaneswar: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and his Odisha counterpart Mohan Charan Majhi, convened at Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar to discuss the longstanding Mahanadi water dispute. During Sai’s visit to Odisha, he paid a courtesy call on Majhi, facilitating a crucial conversation between the two leaders.
Majhi emphasized the need for an amicable resolution, citing the neighbouring states’ linguistic and emotional similarities. He urged for an immediate resolution, prioritizing the interests of both states’ citizens. Sai reciprocated with a positive outlook, reaffirming his commitment to a peaceful resolution through dialogue.
This development follows Majhi’s previous assertions on resolving the dispute, where he mentioned that his government has pursued the matter seriously with Chhattisgarh. The Chief Ministers’ consensus to focus on this issue marks a significant step towards finding a peaceful resolution to the Mahanadi water dispute.
