Mahila Cong Activists Clash With Police In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Activists of Mahila Congress on Wednesday had a scuffle with the police when they were stopped from marching towards Naveen Niwas, the official residence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here.

Members of the Mahila Congress led by All India Mahila Congress president Alka Lamba and Odisha Mahila Congress president Minakshi Bahinipati took out a rally to gherao Naveen Niwas to protest over rising cases of violence against women in the State.

The protestors had a scuffle with the police when they attempted to remove and jump over the barricades put up by the latter near Ashok Nagar.
