Sambalpur: Police on Wednesday arrested a youth who allegedly threw a pressure bomb from flyover near Peerbaba Chowk in Sambalpur with the intention of creating panic among locals.
The accused was identified as Abhilash Mishra (19) of Sunaripada, Badbazar in the town.
Police also seized a white colour cycle, a white colour hoody T Shirt, an Apple Mobile phone, electronic tools for preparation of pressure bomb, a scooty, shouldering machine, burnt bullet motor bike, two burnt batteries, electronic circuit, LED machine, heat gun, and a plastic handle knife from him.
Due to the bomb explosion, three persons sustained injuries and were hospitalised. They have been discharged today.
Soon after the accused hurled the bomb, senior police officers and all other officers immediately arrived and brought the situation under control.
Police also started blocking and checking at different points to nab the involved culprit.
