Rayagada: After a six-month hiatus, the doors of Maa Majhigharani Temple’s donation boxes were finally opened, and a staggering amount of Rs 1,04,36,963 crore was counted along with 38 grams of gold, 2.5 kg of silver, and 12 foreign currencies.
According to reports, the arduous counting process, which lasted for over eight hours, was conducted in the presence of the Endowment Department, local authorities, and temple management committee members. Over 200 volunteers, including members of various organizations and students, were involved in the counting process.
The counting started at 9 am on Monday. The temple’s donation boxes were opened under tight security, and the counted amount was deposited into the Utkal Grameen Bank. The counted amount includes Rs 1,04,36,963 in cash, 38 grams of gold, 2 kg 505 grams of silver, and 12 foreign currencies.
According to the temple management committee trustee, the interest earned from this amount will be utilised for the betterment of the temple and its facilities.
