Cuttack: A massive fire broke out at a suitcase showroom and garments godown in the bustling Dolamundai area of Cuttack on Tuesday morning, causing widespread destruction and panic.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire started around 11 am when some staff members opened the showroom. Suddenly, a loud noise was heard when staff turned on the air-conditioner and smoke began billowing out of the air conditioner.
The staff members rushed out of the showroom and informed the fire department. Two fire engines reached the spot and began efforts to douse the blaze. However, the fire continued to rage, fueled by plastic and cloth materials stored inside the showroom.
Meanwhile, residents also joined in the efforts to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and no casualties have been reported so far.
Fortunately, authorities have confirmed that there have been no reported casualties or injuries.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a short circuit may have been the underlying reason behind the devastating fire that ravaged the suitcase showroom and garments godown.
