Bhubaneswar: Presiding over the fourth Governing Body meeting of Odisha State Maritime Museum, Cuttack today at the State Secretariat here, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik held detailed discussions on the development of the museum.
As per a press note released by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the Odisha State Maritime Museum situated in Cuttack city has grown up to a popular spot. The number of visitors has increased. It carries the stamp of our glorious maritime tradition.
Addressing the session, the Chief Minister laid stress on distributing brochures on the museum in all the schools and colleges of Cuttack city.
The Chief Minister also directed to grant 50% discount to the visiting students below 14 years of age while the differently-abled visitors must be allowed entry free of cost during their visits to the SFX and Aquarium of the State Maritime Museum.
The significant meeting also discussed on the expansion of the Aquarium, installation of Mirror Maze, granting 21 days of extra annual salary to the employees there as they are working even on holidays. The Governing Body meeting also decided to re-structure salary of the employees.
Also it was decided that special development and beautification of the Mahanadi river bank before the museum will be made.
Prominent among others, Cuttack MP, MLAs of Cuttack city and Tangi-Choudwar, Development Commissioner, Water Resources Principal Secretary and Cuttack Collector also attended the important meeting.
