Malkangiri, Boudh Record Season’s Highest Temp At 42°C; 11 Places 40°C Or More

Bhubaneswar: Odisha reeled under heatwave conditions as 11 places across the State recorded maximum daytime temperature of 40°C or above on Thursday, according to the evening weather bulletin of India Meteorological Department’s (IMD’s) regional office here.

Boudh and Malkangiri recorded the current season’s highest maximum daytime temperature at 42°C, followed by Angul at 41.7°C, Bolangir at 41.7°C, Jharsuguda at 41.6°C, Bhawanipatna at 41°C, Titilagarh at 41°C, Nuapada at 40.4°C Sundargarh at 40.1°C and Talcher 40°C.

The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded maximum temperature of 37.4°C and 38.0°C respectively.

The IMD has cautioned that temperature is likely to rise up to 2°C during the next two days.
