Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday conducted simultaneous raids on the houses and property associated with M. Ananda Rao, Chief District Agriculture Officer of Malkangiri, on the allegation of amassing disproportionate assets.
Separate teams of the anti-corruption agency led by 3 DSPs, 7 Inspectors, and other staff, on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge Vigilance, Jeypore, conducted searches at the following five places in Nabarangpur and Malkangiri district.
1. Triple-storeyed building located near LIC Office, Nabarangpur.
2. Triple-storeyed building located near LIC Office Nabarangpur (under construction).
3. Residential triple-storeyed building near China Market, Nabarangpur.
4. Office chamber of Rao located at Malkangiri.
5. Residential Government Quarter of Rao located at Malkangiri.
During searches so far, Rs 53,000 cash and bank deposits of over Rs 3.93 lakh have been unearthed.
