Malkangiri: A bunch of 13 tribal boys from remote Malkangiri district of Odisha have won hearts on Sony Entertainment Television’s reality show ‘India’s Got Talent’ by showcasing their amazing skills in a fusion of martial arts and dance.
These boys who are natives of ‘Swabhimaan Anchal’ of Malkangiri district, once a cut-off region notoriously famous for Left Wing Extremism (LWE) before the Gurupriya Setu came into existence, have qualified for the second round of ‘India’s Got Talent’ show after displaying their daredevil skills in the first round.
“We the students of AOMAA (All Odisha Martial Arts Academy) never imagined that we would ever go to Mumbai and qualify in ‘India’s Got Talent’ show. We have passed the audition and first round of the show and we are practicing for the next episode. We hope to perform well in the coming rounds,” said Ram Madkami, a member of the group.
“We had never ever thought in our dreams that we will be performing in ‘India’s Got Talent’,” said Arjun Khara, another member of the team.
These rural talents groomed by OAMAA founder, Binash Kumar Mishra have been trained in the art of self-defence through martial arts like Judo, Karate, Kung-fu, Taekwondo, and Yoga.
