Malkangiri: The Malkangiri district administration is assessing the damage caused by the violence in MV-26 village following the recovery of a headless body of a tribal woman. District Collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay personally visited the village to assess the situation.
The administration has taken stock of the destroyed houses, furniture, and damaged trees, and is providing assistance to the affected villagers. A free kitchen has been arranged, and cooked food has been provided. Blankets have also been distributed to protect the villagers from the cold.
The administration has provided financial assistance of Rs 30,000 to the deceased’s family from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Internet services have been suspended in the district for another 12 hours.
The situation is under control, with surveillance cameras installed to monitor the area. The villagers are returning to their homes, and peace has been restored.
