Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly killing his friend over a financial dispute in Bhurudukala village under Khunta police station in Mayurbhanj district.
The accused, identified as Mangal Murmu, reportedly had a dispute with his friend Ganesh Murmu over money earned from selling chickens at the Badakhunta village market.
According to reports, after selling the chickens, Mangal retained the money. When Ganesh asked for his share, the two got into an argument. The dispute escalated further on their way back to Bhurudukala village, during which Mangal allegedly attacked Ganesh with bricks, leading to his death.
Ganesh’s body was later found lying on the roadside in Badakhunta village. Locals informed the police, and the Khunta police immediately reached the scene and began an investigation. A key to the accused’s motorcycle, found at the site, helped the police trace and arrest Mangal.
The accused is currently in police custody and further investigation is underway.
