Bhubaneswar: Airfield Police on Friday arrested a person on charges of thrashing a man while posing as a police inspector. He was identified as Ranjan Bhuiyan.
According to reports, Ranjan had past enmity with the victim’s younger brother. He had called the victim to a place and thrashed him by identifying himself as the Inspector-in-charge of Airfield Police Station.
The accused had also pressured the man to call his younger brother with whom he had some past rivalry. Later, the fake cop was arrested based on the complaint filed by the victim.
Ranjan works for a web series because of which he managed to get the police uniform. He belongs to Kendrapara and was staying here at Sundarpada on rent.
