Baripada: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped and blackmailed by her own uncle, leaving her eight months pregnant under Baripada Town police station in Mayurbhanj district.
The accused, identified as Ganesh Mohkud, a resident of Jamda village in Mayurbhanj district, was arrested by Baripada Town Police today for his heinous crimes.
According to the victim’s brother, Bikash Panipatra, his uncle Ganesh exploited his niece’s trust, recording videos of her while she was bathing and threatening to make them viral if she spoke out.
“My uncle paid my sister Rs 5 to Rs 10 for working at his tiffin stall, but he had sinister intentions. He recorded videos of her and blackmailed her, leaving her pregnant,” Bikash alleged.
The victim, a class topper, is now eight months pregnant, and her family is demanding justice.
“We need justice to ensure that he does not harm anyone else. If we do not punish him, he may repeat the same crime with others,” Bikash added.
The accused fled after learning about the incident but was eventually caught by the police.
