Man Arrested For Trying To Rape Mother-Daughter Duo At Baramunda Bus Terminal

Bhubaneswar: A shocking incident of attempted rape was reported at the Baramunda bus terminal in Bhubaneswar on November 2.

According to reports, a woman and her 10-year-old daughter were allegedly targeted by a man while they were resting at the terminal, waiting for a bus.

The accused, identified Pabitra Kanhar (39), a resident of Begunipada in Ganjam district, was arrested by the Bharatpur police after the woman lodged a complaint.

The police acted swiftly, managing to arrest the accused as he attempted to flee the scene.

The accused was subsequently produced before a court after being arrested under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The police are currently investigating the matter, and further details are awaited.
