Balasore: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly attacked his wife and two sons with an axe following a domestic dispute in Dahamunda village under Kamarda police limits in Balasore district late Sunday night.
The accused has been identified as Poltu Jena, reportedly assaulted the trio during a heated argument at their residence. The incident occurred on the night of Father’s Day.
According to reports, Jena picked up an axe lying in the house and attacked his wife and children in a fit of rage before fleeing the spot. Hearing their cries, local residents rushed to the scene and rescued the victims, who sustained critical injuries.
They were first taken to Kamarda Community Health Centre (CHC) and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for advanced treatment.
Upon receiving information, Kamarda police reached the spot, recovered the weapon used in the assault, and launched an investigation.
