Bhubaneswar: Additional District & Sessions Court, Aska on Saturday sentenced one Bijay Pradhan to undergo life imprisonment after convicting him of murdering his wife in 2022.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the convict failing which he has to undergo imprisonment for 3 months more.
The court pronounced the sentence after examining the statements of 16 witnesses and the post-mortem report of the deceased.
As per case details, on the night of 22nd September 2022, a drunk Bijay bludgeoned his wife Manjula Pradhan(47) to death with a stick.
A complaint was lodged at the Aska police station in this regard. Following the complaint police registered a case and arrested Bijay Pradhan.
