Sundargarh: In a horrific incident, a man was beaten to death by his neighbour in Hatisal village of Phuljhar panchayat under Mahul Pada police limits here on Sunday night over a land dispute.
The deceased has been identified as Chitu Nayak of the Hatisal village, while the police have arrested the accused Lak Nayak.
According to reports, the families of the accused Lack Nayak and the victim Chitu had an old enmity over the ownership of landed property. An argument broke out between the two on Sunday night on the same issue. The fight took an ugly turn when an infuriated Lak Nayak hit Chitu on the head with a wooden plank. As a result, Chitu fell to the ground and died on the spot.
On being informed, SDPO reached the spot along with Mahul Pada police and arrested the accused.
