Angul: In a shocking incident, a man thrashed his mother to death for money at Bagadia Dehurysahi under Chendipada police limits in Angul district on Sunday night.
Police have seized the body and detained the accused.
According to reports, the accused identified as Tushar Kanta Dehury used to stay with his widowed mother Binapani Dash who had retired as an ANM. Tushar Kanta was Binapani’s younger son. He used to allegedly often abuse and beat his mother for money.
On Sunday, as usual, Tushar Kanta had sought money from his mother Binapani.
As Binapani did not give money, Tushar Kanta allegedly thrashed her.
Today morning neighbours found the doors of Binapani’s house locked from the outside, on peeping inside they saw Binapani’s body lying in the courtyard and informed the police.
Police have captured Tushar Kanta from Deogarh chhak. He has been detained and is being questioned by the police.
