Bhubaneswar: In a heart-breaking incident, a man brutally attacked his 8th-class daughter and made her unconscious before committing suicide by hanging himself at Jenasahi village in Bhadrak district
The incident occurred following a heated altercation between Surendra Jena and his daughter Gitanjali. The altercation turned violent when Surendra, in a fit of rage, struck Gitanjali with a sharp weapon, leaving her lying unconscious in a pool of blood.
Overcome with guilt and remorse, Surendra took his own life by hanging from a tree near his residence. Villagers, alerted to the tragedy, rushed Gitanjali to the hospital and notified the authorities.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident. The exact circumstances surrounding the dispute and the events leading up to the tragedy are still being examined.
