Mayurbhanj: In a tragic incident, a man brutally killed his younger brother over a land-related dispute at Nalagaja village under Rasgobindpur police station limits in Mayurbhanj district on Sunday.
The accused Arun Mahana brutally killed his younger brother Jayant Mahana due to a dispute over the boundary of their respective houses.
According to sources, Arun and Jayant both sons of one Debendra Mahana, were involved in land-related disputes for a long time, leading to occasional altercations.
On Sunday at 8 am, Jayant was trying to fence the boundary limits of his house when there was a fierce altercation between both brothers.
Enraged Arun assaulted Jayant using a sword by repeatedly striking at his neck, instantly killing him on the spot.
After being informed about the incident, Rasagobindpur police station in-charge Sukant Korei, with his team arrived at the crime scene.
Meanwhile, the accused Arun has fled the crime scene in a motorbike along with the murder weapon.
Further investigation into the matter is on.
