Bhubaneswar: A man died in an explosion after his uncle hurled five country bombs on his house at Naibhansar village under Harirajpur panchayat in Delang block of Puri district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Tapan Das. His uncle Bidyadhar Das is absconding after the incident.
Reportedly, Tapan’s brother had lodged a complaint against Bidyadhar at Harirajpur Police Station yesterday following a tussle between the two families over past enmity. Angry over it, Bidyadhar hurled five bombs at Tapan’s house.
As Tapan’s daughter was playing outside when the bombs were hurled, he rushed to save his daughter and fell victim of the explosion. He was rushed in critical condition to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar where he died while undergoing treatment.
Police have been deployed in the village to prevent any untoward incident. A probe into the matter has also been initiated.
