Man Dies In Road Mishap While Bringing Father’s Body Home For Cremation In Mayurbhanj

Bhubaneswar: In a heart-wrenching incident at Thakurmunda block in Mayurbhanj district, a person died in a road mishap while accompanying his father’s body home for cremation.

As per reports, Gopabandhu Nayak (65) of Mituani village under Thakurmunda block had complained of chest pain due to complications from high blood pressure and he became unconscious. His only son, Shubh had taken him to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack where he died.

Subha was bringing his body back to Thakurmunda in an ambulance on Sunday. While returning to his village, he stopped the ambulance near Madhapur and got out of the ambulance to fetch water. Tragically, he was hit by a pickup van and suffered severe injuries, including fractures to both legs and one arm. Initially, he was rushed to Jajpur Road Hospital. As his condition was critical, he was referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

Shubh, however, succumbed to his injuries before reaching SCB Medical College and Hospital.

The double tragedy has left the family devastated and sent shockwaves through the community.
