Balasore: A man was killed when a speeding car hit him near Balichanda Ghat in Anantpur Panchyat under Soro police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district on Thursday morning. According to reports, the accident occurred when the deceased was returning home with his daughter for the Sabitri festival.
The deceased has been identified as Sunil Barik, a resident of Balimed village under Basudebpur block in Odisha’s Bhadrak district.
Sunil Barik was returning home with his daughter when a speeding car hit him. Locals rushed Sunil to the Anantapur Community Health Centre (CHC) in critical condition. However, he breathed his last before reaching the hospital.
On being informed, a police team from the Anantpur outpost reached the CHC and sent his body for autopsy. They have also launched an investigation into the incident.
