Balasore: A man was electrocuted while plucking flowers near his home in Talakurunia village under Gopalpur police limits in Balasore district on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Damodar Dash, a local resident.
According to reports, Damodar was plucking flowers near his home when he came into contact with a chain-link boundary wire that had become accidentally electrified. The wire was allegedly connected to an illegal power supply line drawn from an electric pole by his neighbour, Biswanath Jena.
Dash died on the spot due to the electric shock.
Upon receiving information, Gopalpur police arrived at the scene and have launched an investigation into the incident.
Police are looking into the alleged illegal power connection and its role in the incident.
