Bhubaneswar: A 31-year-old man of Gandhigrampada under Jaypatna police limits in Kalahandi district was found dead in a pond under mysterious circumstances, on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Pramod Nayak.
According to sources, Pramod received a phone call around 8 pm and left his house yesterday night. As he failed to return home, his family members made a frantic search but failed to trace him.
To their utter surprise, Pramod’s body was found floating in the pond.
Meanwhile, Pramod’s family has alleged that his death was a result of a pre-planned attack. They claim that Pramod had a dispute with some people during the recent Dhanuyatra festival in the village and that this incident might be connected to his murder.
Pramod is survived by his wife and two children. He was the sole breadwinner of the family and worked as a water service provider.
Police, meanwhile, seized the body and launched an investigation into the incident.
