Bhubaneswar: A young man was murdered with his throat slit, near the STI Chhak overbridge in the Raghunathpali police station area in Rourkela.
The deceased, identified as Amrit Mahakud from the Bonai area, had been staying at Gadhakhola area in the city for several months. He worked as a daily wager.
The police have sent the body for post-mortem and are investigating the crime scene, assisted by scientific teams. Some liquor bottles and snacks were seized from the crime spot, suggesting that Mahakud and his friends had been drinking together.
Preliminary investigation indicates that an argument over trivial issues escalated, leading to the murder. Mahakud’s body bore multiple injury marks.
The police are working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the murder.
