Sundargarh: A Special POCSO Court in Sundargarh has sentenced Sushil Tete to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) for impregnating a minor girl with false promises of marriage. The court also imposed a fine of ₹20,000, with an additional year of imprisonment if the fine remains unpaid.
The case pertains to an incident in the Badagaon police station area, where Tete exploited the trust of a minor girl, leading to severe physical and emotional trauma. The court’s verdict came after a thorough investigation and trial, highlighting the gravity of the offense under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
In addition to the punishment, the court directed the District Legal Services Authority to provide ₹5 lakh as compassionate assistance to the victim to support her rehabilitation and recovery.
