Balasore: The Balasore POCSO Court here today awarded 20 years’ rigorous imprisonment (RI) to one Santosh Singh after convicting him under section 6 of the POCSO Act for raping a minor girl in 2020.
In addition to that the court also slapped a fine of Rs 14,000 on Singh. The court further ruled that upon failure to pay the fine, Singh has to undergo imprisonment for another six months.
According to proceedings of the case, Singh had raped a minor girl of Nilagiri area in Balasore district. The family of the minor girl had lodged a complaint with the police in this regard. Following the complaint Singh was arrested.
