Baripada: Mayurbhanj District Sessions Court here on Thursday sentenced Kana alias Kuar Karuna Hansda to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 5000 after convicting him in Mayurbhanj Baghadiha murder case.
Upon failure to pay the fine, convict Hansda has to undergo imprisoment for six months more.
According to case details, on January 24, 2021 Hansda had made a murderous assault on Gopal Hansda. While Gopal was being shifted to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries on the way.
Gopal’s wife Maya has lodged a report at Khunta police station. Following the complaint Hansda was arrested by the police.
