Jharsuguda: A man allegedly hacked his elder brother to death with an axe at Jangapada village under Lakhanpur Police limits in Jharsuguda district on Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Sunil Munda.
According to reports, a verbal argument erupted between Sunil Munda and his younger brother Sushil Munda over some specific issue. The situation escalated when Sushil lost his temper and attacked Sunil with an axe. Sunil was initially rushed to the Jharsuguda District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in a critical condition and later transferred to the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Science and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla, where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
On receiving the information, the Lakhanpur Police and a scientific team arrived at the scene on Monday to begin their investigation. Based on the statement from Sunil’s father, the police have registered a murder case and arrested the accused.
