Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly hacked his son for Rs 100 at Lalitagiri village under Mahanga police station in Cuttack district on Monday.
According to reports, an argument ensued between the accused Manas Behera and his son over a meagre amount of Rs 100 for buying fish. This incident left Manas so angry that he wanted to take revenge. Subsequently, he hatched a plot to eliminate his son. Accordingly, Manas attacked his son with a sharp-edged weapon when the latter was asleep on Monday night.
Manas’s son managed to save his life from the deadly attack of his father but he sustained severe injuries in the process. When Manas was trying to flee the spot leaving his son writhing in pain, locals caught Manas and handed him over to police.
Locals also rescued the injured and immediately rushed to him to Mahanga Community Health Centre in a critical condition. As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
