Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a man killed his younger brother over a family feud at Khirikhia village under Gurudijhatia Police limits in Odisha’s Cuttack district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Barju Badara.
As per reports, a verbal spat erupted between a man and his wife on Monday evening. Matters escalated and the man beat his wife. Hearing the screams, the younger brother Barju came and told his elder brother not to beat his wife.
However, the situation took an ugly turn and the elder brother attacked the younger one with a spade, resulting in the younger brother’s death in front of the house.
Upon receiving the news, the Gurudijhatia police, along with Cuttack district Rural SP Prateek Singh, reached the spot and initiated an investigation.
The deceased’s body was sent for post-mortem. The accused elder brother has been detained by the police and his interrogation is underway.
