Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a 50-year-old man was allegedly killed by his son over a family dispute at Banshpani village under the Joda police station in Keonjhar district, on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Ajay Sethi and his son Bikash has been arrested in connection with the murder on Monday.
According to reports, Bikash had been pressurizing his father to allow him to marry a girl of his choice. However, Ajay had been advising him to focus on his career first and do some work to get married.
The argument between the two escalated into a violent fight, during which Bikash allegedly attacked his father with the help of a wooden log. Ajay was rushed to Tata Steel Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Ajay’s wife, Gurubari Sethi, has filed a complaint at the Joda police station, following which Bikash was arrested.
The police have launched an investigation into the matter and are questioning Bikash to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the murder.
