Rourkela: Rourkela Police have arrested an employee of a PSU in the steel city on charges of sexually abusing his 13-year-old daughter for years.
According to reports, the accused had two daughters and after his wife’s death, the elder daughter has been studying outside the state while his younger daughter was staying with him. Taking advantage of the situation, he allegedly started abusing her sexually.
Though her ordeal continued for four years the victim, finding herself helpless in absence of her mother, could not disclose the matter to anyone. When she could take it no longer, the girl confided in her elder sister and with the help of her uncle, she went to the police station and filed a complaint. In her complaint, the victim alleged that she was last sexually abused by her father on October 6.
Acting on the victim’s complaint, police arrested the accused from Sector 15 in Rourkela on Thursday night and produced him in court on Friday.
The police said further investigation is underway and all needful measures will be taken to ensure justice for the girl.
