Man Injured In Bear Attack In Kalahandi

Bhubaneswar: A 55-year-old man was mauled by a bear at Kokasara block in Kalahandi district in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The injured has been identified as Nanda Raut, a resident of Tetelpada village under Baradanga panchayat. He suffered serious injuries in the attack.

According to reports, Raut was attacked by the bear while he was heading to the river to attend nature’s call. Upon being informed, forest officials rushed Raut initially to the Kokasara Hospital for primary treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later referred to the Kalahandi District Headquarters Hospital for further treatment.
