Man Jumps Before Train After Attacking Wife In Rourkela

Rourkela: A man jumped before a goods train after attacking his wife with a knife at Bondamunda in Rourkela of Sundargarh district, said sources on Wednesday.

The man identified as Phiru Badaik, a loco pilot by profession, has lost his left leg. Both he and his wife are presently admitted at the Ispat General Hospital (IGH).

Reportedly, after returning to his home at Diesel Colony last night, Phiru has some altercation with his wife. Irate over this he picked a knife and slashed her face and ear.

On hearing her screams, neighbours rushed to the rescue but Phiru had already fled from the spot. The neighbours immediately rushed Phiru’s wife to the hospital.

Today morning, railway police received information that a person has jumped before a moving train near Bondamunda K Cabin. They found it to be Phiru who did not die but his left leg was severed from under the knee.
