Cuttack: A man went missing in the Sidua river on the outskirts of Cuttack on Sunday morning after he jumped into the river with his 10-month-old daughter. While the daughter was rescued by the Fire Services personnel, the man went missing and is yet to be traced.
According to reports, following an altercation with his wife Deepali Pradhan, Prakash Pradhan dragged his 10-month-old daughter and jumped into the Sidua river while bystanders witnessed the shocking incident. Startled by the developments, bystanders jumped into the river to save the man and minor daughter.
While the child were rescued by the locals and sent to a medical center, Prakash is still reported to be missing. While the Fire Services department has launched an extensive search to rescue the man, Cuttack Sadar Police is probing the incident.
Till the time of filing this report, the Fire Services personnel are yet to trace the whereabouts of Prakash.
