Man Killed As Bike Rams Electric Pole on Konark-Puri Marine Drive

Puri: A 34-year-old man was killed in a road mishap this afternoon after his motorcycle rammed into an electric pole on the Konark-Puri Marine Drive near Lotus Resorts.

The deceased has been identified as Surendra Behera, a resident of Tikana village under Chandrabhaga police station limits.

According to reports, Surendra was traveling to Konark for some work and was on his way back to his village when he suddenly lost control of his motorcycle. The two-wheeler veered off the road and crashed into an electric pole on the left side.

Locals immediately alerted the fire brigade, which rushed Surendra to the Gop Community Health Centre. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident. The tragic death has cast a pall of gloom over Tikana village.
