Man Killed In Lightning Strike In Balasore

 Balasore: A young man died after being struck by lightning while working in a prawn gheri at Mahapada village in Balasore district.

The deceased has been identified as Basudev Mallick.

The incident occurred during a thunderstorm and heavy rain this afternoon. Seeking shelter in a nearby rice field, Mallick was fatally struck by lightning that also destroyed a nearby house. He died on the spot.

Locals have demanded immediate government assistance for Mallick’s family, citing their poor economic condition.
