Angul: In a shocking incident, a man was killed by his neighbor on Tuesday night following a dispute over one person’s cow grazing on the paddy on another’s field in Narayanchandrapur village under Baurapal police limits in Odisha’s Angul district.
According to reports, a cow belonging to Sushant Naik broke into his neighbour Fadi Naik’s field and grazed on the paddy. An infuriated Fadi had a bitter argument with Sushant over the issue. While everyone thought that the matter had settled after the argument, the dispute escalated again at around 9.00 pm on Tuesday when Sushant and his wife attacked Fadi with a knife and sickle.
Soon after the attack, Fadi died on the spot.
On being informed, a team from Baurapal police station reached the village and detained Sushant and his wife. They sent Fadi’s body for post-mortem.
Meanwhile, the police have initiated a probe into the incident and are interrogating the two accused.
