Man Kills Brother Over Mobile Phone In Koraput

Koraput: A man allegedly stabbed his elder brother to death after an altercation over the use of a mobile phone at Dasmantapur village under Baipariguda police limits in Koraput district.

The deceased has been identified as one 32-year-old Kanhu Charan Pradhani of Dasmantapur village.

The accused identified as Laxmikant Pradhani who is the younger brother of the deceased is on the run.

According to family members, the two siblings Kanhu Charan and Laxmikant on Thursday night had a fight over the use of the mobile phone.

In a fit of rage, Laxmikant stabbed his elder brother Kanhu Charan with a steel knife.

Kanhu Charan who was grievously hurt was rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Baipariguda by his family.

As Kanhu Charan’s condition was serious, doctors at the CHC after providing him with first aid shifted him to the District Headquarters Hospital at Jeypore.

However, Kanhu Charan died while undergoing treatment at the hospital today.

Kanhu Charan’s death was reported by a relative of his at the Baipariguda police station.

Baipariguda police station Inspector In-Charge (IIC) Iswar Tandi reached Dasmantapur with a scientific team and is investigating the matter. On the other hand, accused Laxmikant has absconded.

Tandi has informed that a team has been formed to nab the accused.
